Highbury Mews 1

We worked collaboratively with Lisa Shell and Associates to replace a 1970s mews house with a highly detailed contemporary property. As well as incorporating many beautiful and considered finishes, the project involved a complex technical design to including, solar panels, air tightness and an MVHR system. The difficult location of the property meant that the logistics where challenging and maintaining good relations with the local residents was vital. This we achieved so well that we won a similar project a few doors down.

Testimonial

Although the house was modest in size (1700sq ft), it was a complex design on a tight site. Henry and his team did a superb job in:

  • Doing work of the highest standard
  • Delivering the project within budget, even though the intricacy of the architect’s design caused significant problems
  • Managing scope issues promptly and fairly
  • Dealing with the concerns of the residents with tact and aplomb

My wife and I were particularly impressed by the prompt response of Charles Alexander to an inevitable snagging issue which arose after formal completion of the build when there was no legal obligation to do so. We were delighted clients and, as such, subsequently hired Henry for the major design and refurbishment of a loft apartment without any architect’s involvement. This additional project has since been successfully completed without a hitch.
